Growing up, I loved writing and creating fictional worlds in my head (some call it daydreaming).

But as the first child of an African household, a career based on passion and talent was out of the question. I set my sights on becoming a pediatrician which didn't work out so I ended up with microbiology—anything to work in healthcare.

Then right after my graduation in 2017 my life took a different turn. A friend introduced me to the world of writing for real clients. I had zero expectations, but I didn't hesitate either.

I worked my fingers off to build my experience and skills. My path wasn’t linear, but I took all the turns, and stayed in the trenches of working and learning.

Taking that chance paid off both for myself and the people I worked with. My clients were seeing their dreams and visions come true.

I realized I could really do it…

I could really live a life where my work was my passion.

It’s been seven years and counting.

My journey has taught me a lot of things including how hard it is to take anything from an idea to real life existence.

Many great stories and projects never see the light of day because of this (or maybe they do, but not in the way the originator desired). People give up. Some halfway. Others before they’ve even started. And sometimes all they needed was to work with someone who had the unique expertise and insights their vision required.
